In-Home Boarding: Your Dog’s Stress-Free Retreat

Is your dog already a trained and well mannered-pup? Consider our in-home boarding services right here in Sacramento! Boarding your dog in a home offers a cozy alternative to traditional kennels. Because dogs are boarded on an individual basis, they receive personalized attention, familiar routines, and customized care. This can reduce anxiety for your dog in an unfamiliar place, and for you while you’re away from them.

During their stay, your dog will receive exercise, enrichment, playtime, and feeding according to their schedule. Choosing in-home dog boarding means your dog can feel less stress while you’re away. It’s a great option for pups who prefer a homey setting over noisy boarding facilities and for pet parents seeking peace of mind knowing their dog is in caring hands.

Boarding is a good option for well-adjusted dogs that are comfortable being in new places. Dogs that experience separation anxiety, have fears of new places or people, or are reactive towards other animals or people will not be accepted for boarding as it can increase these fears and anxieties, especially for older puppies and adolescent dogs (<2 years old). To be boarded, dogs must be comfortable:

Behind a barrier and in a crate
Being alone up to 4 hours
With all human genders
– With cats

To assess if boarding your dog in my home is a good fit, we will start with a free 15 minute phone consultation. During this call I will learn about your dog and their care needs.

All new clients and their dog(s) also require a free in-person meet and greet. This allows all of us the opportunity to make sure it’s a good fit in my home.

Additional meet and greets can be scheduled for $25. These can be for many reasons – maybe your dog needs a little more time to feel comfortable or you just want to get to know me a little better!

While I provide housing, enrichment, and training services, you will be responsible for providing your dog’s food, leash, flat collar and harness, any medications, and all transportation for pick-up and drop-off. Your dog must be up-to-date on all vaccinations (DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella; puppies must be fully vaccinated), free of transmissible diseases, and in general good health. Please note this service is not suitable for dogs with reactivity towards other animals or people, or dogs with separation anxiety.
